The Tijjaniyya Muslim Council of Ghana is a religious organization aimed at uniting the Muslim Ummah and Tijjaniyya faithfuls under one umbrella. The organization was established in April 2012.Various regional branches of the Council have been Inaugurated since the inception of the organization except the Greater Accra region.
Yesterday Sunday December 15, 2019 at Trade Fair Centre La,the Greater Accra and National executives of the Council have been Inaugurated and sworn into office to commence work to ensure the achievement of the council's aims and objectives.
The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was the Guest of honour of the occasion.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Tijanniya Muslim Council of Ghana, President Akufo-Addo urged Muslim youths to take the guidance of their Shaykhs seriously, and also take advantage of the possibilities available under his government’s programmes to develop their talents, and become responsible citizens.
“Muslim youth cannot continue to be the ones who are used for violent purposes. I want to make this appeal to you: in 2020, do not allow yourselves to be used by irresponsible politicians to engage in acts of destabilisation and violence”, he added.
Expressing his appreciation to the President, Khalifa Shaikh Ahmed Abul faid Maikano, leader and President of the Tijanniya Muslim faith, thanked President Akufo-Addo for his support to the Council since its establishment in April 2012.
"We are grateful for the Construction of the mosque complex at Prang and the donation of a four-wheel drive to the household of Jallo by your government" Khalifa sad.
President Akufo-Addo reiterated that “the Minister for Inner City and Zongo Development will work with you to ensure that you get all the support to make the school project a reality.”
