CID honours Citi FM/TV’s security correspondent, Anass SeiduThe Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has honoured Citi FM/Citi TV’s security correspondent, Anass S. Seidu for his outstanding reportage on security, crime and related matters.
According to the police CID, the prize is in recognition of the journalist’s dedication to his field of security and crime reporting.
A plaque was presented to Anass Seidu at this year’s CID WASSA program.
The plaque had the inscription “This is in recognition of your selfless dedication to the works of the Criminal Investigation Department. Congratulations”.
In her congratulatory message to Anass, the Director General of CID, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah said “though we sometimes disagree with some news reports about the police, we largely appreciate your commitment, knowledge and sense of verification in your news. We look forward to working with you in subsequent years.”
Anass Seidu was honoured alongside four other journalists namely, Anita Nyarko-Yirenkyi of Ghanaian Times, Linda Tenyah-Ayettey of Daily Guide, Peter Qao Adattor of TV3 and Gladys of Daily Graphic.
ABOUT CID WASSA
This year’s West Africa Security Service Association (WASSA) celebration by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service was organized under the theme: “Consolidating ideas against vigilantism for national safety.”
The ceremony brought together senior police officers and men, partners and other sister security agencies including the Chief of Defence staff, Lieutenant General Obed Boamah Akwa.
The Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Opare was also at the event as the guest of honour.
In her speech, the Chief of Staff indicated that the Vigilantism Bill currently before Parliament will assist the police in fighting the menace of politically motivated crimes.
The Director-General of the CID, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah also assured that her outfit will give its all to guarantee public safety and a peaceful country.

She charged personnel of the department to work hard to regain public confidence.
Patrons were also treated to entertaining performances by hiplife artists such as Patapaa, Obour, VVIP and Tutulapato.
