State institution which constitutionally mandated to protect the Children and provide Social welfare to has turn blind eye to it while the principal of the national capital continues to grow children on the street. The unconcerned altitude of Cynthia Morrison Gender Minister of Women and Children's Affairs or Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection of Ghana and recent past ministers, is worrying as the situation speedily escalate.
“The Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs or Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection of Ghana is the government ministry responsible for the formulation of policies that promote the institutionalization and development of women and children issues”. Well, the above is the core mandate and job description of the said minister however it appears to rhetoric to the citizenries.
Today is 20th Of March 2019 and the KRLivez news team hit the streets of Accra to find out how those children with their mothers are faring on the streets children and ministry is supporting them.
Pupils aging from 10years to 26yrs which should be the country best belt are left to survive by themselves, these are children are the same people to grow our society with negative vices like prostitute, arm robbery, and domestic prostitute in the capital and nationwide and the Minister and entire pretend not to see.
Earlier last year the current government led by President Nana Akufo Addo promise the nation to take off these kids off the streets, up to date there is no improvement on such implementation yet. The team realize that hackers grown up on the streets unconcern has become a burden for the capital and the nationwide as well
And Non-Governmental Organizations In the country only focus on woman and girl child training with exception of male child which is also the Gender ministry's duties to see the youth around are under their care and protection. The question is “What are the Gender ministry's doing for the states now” .....
